The unofficial propellerhead reason tutorial site
Last updated on 7 februari 2012
In 2010 I (Hydlide) started a website project called "the Kernel", this kernel was later being used inside our website known as "The sound of reason network". While the sound of reason was stopped (due to personal issues) I rebooted the project in 2012 again. This project would be known as ReasonExperts.com.
What most people seem miss in this website is what kind of potential this kernel/system has. So let me try to throw in a couple of features here:
- CMS wrapper (content management system wrapper), where the CMS is custom made (no... we don't use wordpress for our site)
- Custom User Detection program... We hunt down spam bots and we barely have any spammers on our website.
- Live feed from multiple websites (reason blogs / youtube/ soundcloud etc / any website is possible since we don't rely on RSS feeds).
- Live updating forum posts througout the complete website
- Live updating comments (which is currently disabled due to lack of comments)
- Integration between phpbb3 and frontpage
- Integration with a custom AjaxChat library
- Front page plugins, the system allows a wide range of multi media content to be plugged in the frontpage on the fly
- Live calendar events (currently disabled), due to lack of activity I have disabled this feature for the time being
- Social plugins (in the works)
Here's a small video I made back in the days when we launched this mayhem project
The kernel is still being updated to make sure it gets a facelift from time to time. In the mean time a new webtool is being developed using the exact same kernel. However, I believe the reason community is not ready yet for what I had planned to do.
